Fire Orders

Fire Safety Orders can be issued as a result of a resident of:

    • A unit in a building complaining about fire safety problems OR
    • NSW Fire Brigades and/or Council Fire Compliance Officers making inspections of buildings under the Environment Planning Assessment Act 1979

In some situations Councils will inspect the building or require an Owners Corporation to carry out a fire safety audit and then direct that the recommendations contained in the audit are carried out.

Fire Orders should be managed as a priority; hefty fines that can be applied for non compliance by the due dates.
