Equipment Certification

Every year the owner of a building must provide an Annual Fire Safety Statement certifying that all fire-safety measures:

  • Work properly

  • Are currently operational

  • Have been maintained in accordance with the relevant Building Code of Australia requirements and Australian Standards

This statement must be assessed by qualified personnel and be displayed prominently.

Failure to comply with this legislation can lead to significant fines of up to $500 per week and possibly serious legal ramifications for those responsible.

Preparation of Annual Fire Safety statements requires coordination of a number of contractors to inspect ALL tenancies within the building.

This requirement can be demanding for Owners Corporations and Strata Managers.

Operating throughout New South Wales, Fire and Life Safety Management can assist Owners Corporations with completing Annual Fire Safety Statements and ensuring fire protection equipment is being properly maintained by qualified fire protection companies.
